Restart, Reset.

Its been a long while since I posted an entry, for a whole garden-type variety of reasons. Crazy work schedule, juggling etc etc etc..

The truth of the matter is that, I think I had not figured out the real intention for the blog and my need to document ideas, events and thoughts. This became especially apparent with my birthday and I felt that the blog was irrelevant given the title ; Counting 35. Hence my little baby got abandoned. I contemplated just taking the blog off, starting a new blog with a new title, focus on weight loss, start a food –cooking blog – everything and anything.

Recently however, I have had time for a little – and folks I tell you A LITTLE bit of reflection, and have realized that I need the blog to live, and specifically this blog.

Saw this quote from a friend on Facebook today; “Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending”

That aptly describes my life right now, and what I am trying to achieve with it. And that folks is what this blog is going to be about.
My life is not about neat little compartments, however OCD organized I try to get about it. Everything kinda melds into this one fluid whole, and that’s how I envision my life to be. I am at this juncture where I have the power, to take control (side-note OCD tendencies on exhibit!) and build something that is true to the essence of who I am. To live the life I would like.

After 18 months of participating in the collapse of my marriage, accepting a new highly demanding but exciting job, having my father pass on suddenly, moving houses, taking on familial emotional and financial responsibilities – amongst others, to say that my life is a little haywire and resembling nothing near what I would like it to be is about as honest as I can get.

The restart and reset this blog – in a way symbolizes the resets that I need to take in my life. It will serve as my journal, my contemplation, the chronicle of the challenges in my life as I deal with my emotional issues, my health and weight challenges, my relationship demons, my dreams of financial security and business success. From the big and important to the trivial and mundane, I hope that the space thoughts and feelings find on this blog will propel me forward. I am on a journey – what I need to do is start getting conscious and mindful. This is my journey, if I am not in-charge who good golly gosh is then????

New Experiences....

Not my usual weekend round-up, but one for the record books. Have always believed in being open to new experiences. In spite of my cultural heritage, never was into Tamil or Hindi movies, despite Bollywood being all the rage.
I humbly admit, I was so wrong! Was introduced to the new generation on Hindi movies this weekend by a certain man in my life.

This one was mind-blowing amazing. The acting, the storyline, the nuances against the bigger backdrop of the reality of Muslim terrorism. I understand why it was banned in Malaysia, but such a pity as the ideas are  complex and challenge you to think.

For the person who does not understand or has not shown any interest, I was blown away by this song in the movie; Shukraan Allah. The imagery of love resonated with the romantic in me. Am going to recommend this for the next family wedding !
So for all to enjoy - the full lyrics below ! Beautiful !

Shukran Allah Wallah Alham Dulillah - Thank You Allah, Allah Be Praised
Nazron Se Nazrein Mili To- When My Eyes Met Your Eyes,
Jannat Si Mehki Fizaayein - The Atmosphere Fragranted Like Heaven
Lab Ne Jo Lab Chhoo Liya To- When We Touched Our Lips With Each Other,
Aasmaan Se Barsi Duaaien- Prayers Showered From Sky
Aisi Apni Mohabbat- Such Is Our Love,
Aisi Rooh-e-ibaadat- Such Is The Essence Of Our Devotion,
Hum Pe Meherbaan Do Jahaan- That Both The Worlds Are Kind On Us
Shukran Allah Wallah Alham Dulillah - (4)
Teri Baahaon Mein Yeh Jism Khil Gaya - My Body Brightened In Your Arms
Teri Saanson Mein Chain Mil Gaya - I Found Peace In Your Breath
Kaise Rahein Ab Hum Juda - How Can I Now Remain Away From You?
Tere Paas Hum Itne Hue - I Came So Close To You
Tere Khawaab Apne Hue - That Your Dreams Became Mine
Aise Huye Ab Hum Fida - Such Is The Way I Fell In Love With You
Aise Uski Inaayat - Such Was The Kindness Of God,
Mit Gayi Har Shikaayat - That All My Complaints Got Over
Hum Pe Meherbaan Do Jahaan - And Both The Worlds Are Kind On Us
Shukran Allah Wallah Alham Dulillah - (4)
Tere Saaye Mein Mili Har Khushi - I Found Happiness In Your Shade
Teri Marzi Meri Zindagi - Your Will Is My Life
Le Chal Tu Chaahe Jahaan - Take Me Wherever You Wish To
Haan Haan Meri Aankhon Mein Nazar Teri Hai - There Is Your Sight In My Eyes
Meri Sham-o-seher Teri Hai - My Mornings And Evenings Are Your's
Tu Jo Nahin To Main Kahan - I Am Nowhere If You Are Not There
Khil Gayi Meri Kismat - My Luck Brightened
Paa Ke Teri Yeh Chaahat - After Attaining Your Love
Hum Pe Meherbaan Do Jahaan - Both The Worlds Are Kind On Us
Shukran Allah Wallah Alham Dulillah - (4)

Marathon Virgin

Now , now, don't let that title get your knickers in a knot !!! This blog is dedicated to a certain Marathon Virgin in my life !
So whats this all about ??? The first long distance race for the year – the Standard Chartered KL Marathon ½ distance (that’s 21km in case you didn’t know it).Sunday morning saw us up at the crack of dawn; 4am to be exact to get to Dataran Merdeka, park and race at 6.15am.

My race tag for the this year ! Can’t buy 4D – boo hoo hooo !

Morning of the race, the reality of whats up ahead not quite hit yet. The only relief was the rain that morning cooled down the weather significantly which made running that route bearable.

At the start point – with my best friend Hammy 1 ! We always have done this thing where we end up dressing alike – unplanned; which has led to the unfortunate distinction of people at the gym thinking we were lesbian partners ! Yes – much to BOTH our dismay.

The crazy bunch post-race ! We have decided there is a very fine line between psycho and sheer stupidity !

Now to the fun part – the title of this blog must be explained ! When we were walking to the start point that morning, saw this banner “Marathon Virgins join us”. That got me thinking - how apt! It was the man’s Virgin 21k run – and this blog is dedicated to him!
The following montage describes perfectly his experience for the day.

Raring to go, little aware of what was to come.

Just finished – “WHY THE HELL DID I DO THAT?????”

Later that day – knocked out !!!!!

I am so proud of him for pushing through and finishing the race, given the preparation or lack of thereof leading up to this race. His work schedules were so crazy, that the most he did was 10k the week before. His time was really awesome for a first 21k! Post race was most interesting, The Man’s current recovery pill of choice – Makcik Nasi Lemak with chicken and a cold coke ! I kid you not folks ! That’s what we were eating in a little warung at the Bukit Aman carpark at 10.30 in the morning after the race. Must say though that nasi lemak and the lontong I had did the job beautifully, cause we managed to make it home without keeling over!

I must also admit – I was a bit of a witch over the weekend, not the best running buddy to have around. For that I apologize and realize that I could have and should have been so much more supportive given that it was his first 21K, and some “RAH RAH” would have been much appreciated. No excuses on that front !

So here is to my Virgin 21K runner! Way to go!!
Up next is the Newton 25k and Penang Bridge Full Marathon ! Don’t ask why – all I can say is that is the plan!

Post Script : Conversation with the man in the car on the way home ; Anu : “Hey that wasn’t so bad ! What you think we try full marathon distance next year in KL”
The Man : “Hmmm!!! 42K in KL…. maybe ok .. we see”.
Now folks beyond crazy I dunno what else to call it!

A long Hiatus

Its been quite a long while away from the blog. So much has happened. As per normal work and the travelling it entailed kinda got outta hand!
I also took the blog down for about 3 weeks, due to personal reasons. That actually upset me more, as I felt that my personal space, decisions and choices were being infringed upon due to someone else's reactions.
Unspoken though, I think the Man also felt I was doing the wrong thing by reacting and taking the blog down. To quote him "Fight la"!
So much has happened in the last month - so many ideas, thoughts, emotions in my head that I just need to get out. So here we go again.. hopefully second time round will be lucky!
Overview of some of the big stuff that happened in the last month :
  • The blog has been discovered by 2 of my friends who also blog (as I had linked it to theirs). Unexpected but exciting turn of affairs as I now have an audience !
  • Travelling like non-stop.
  • The man is now officially on the little fruit bandwagon. Due to buttons falling off his phone, he is now the proud owner of an IPhone 3GS! Kinda the plan topsy turvy as I was to get one first, test test then he get one. All i can say though is that I am hooked. Soon to upgrade!
  • Stuffed up the registration for Singapore marathon ! Places were all snapped up by the end of the early bird registration period ! I swear half of that little island is going to be out running an December 5th. So its back to the drawing board for year end race. That said - I think my stars are not aligned to running a full marathon in Singapore. Will try one last time next year - otherwise its going to be 3 strikes out for Singapore marathon !
  • Training for KL Marathon and the Challenge are not completely on track. But we will persevere!
  • The Man has suggested something new for us to do together - DIVING ! Something I have always wanted to do, and am completely psyched! Only thing now - want to make sure I look smoking hot in a bikini in time to hit the water!
One last thing - this one for HRH The Nut! According to him you need a passport to get to where I live. However given his proclivity for Starbucks and by own humble estimation; I think when one of these come to a location near you (with drive thru to boot) I think you have made it on the map !

Racing Weekend

The week flew past in a blur. For me it started with taking Monday off, going to Sabak Bernam for work and back-to-back meetings on Friday. Amazingly managed to finish reading 'Commited - A skeptic makes peace with marriage',  Elizabeth Gilbert's new book (but that is another post waiting to happen!). The Man also had a crazy busy week from what I gather. So before you know it we were suddenly facing Race No 2 for the year - Pacesetters New Balance 15k on Sunday morning.
However the Friday and Saturday leading into the race were far from relaxed ! Friday night saw me having drinks and dinner with some old mates whose friendship I'd been sorely neglecting. Came back home to the Man (bliss)! Saturday saw me running errands, going for a business meeting, dealing with some family drama, which lead to the below drama on Saturday around 11pm.
Trying to desperately book flight tickets for work trip to Singapore on Tuesday morning only to discover I had not paid for mobile broadband services !!!!!!!!!! Thankfully i was saved by the Man and his ingenious idea.  Man also had some drama to deal with which saw him doing a wee bit of drinking and thinking till late into Saturday night.
Anyway come Sunday morning - off we went to race !

All things said - it was an ok race. My time was 1hr 53mins - off target by about 10 mins, so am not particularly happy about that. The Man came in in 2hr 6 mins, which is decent but he was hoping to come in under 2 hours.
The Man completely shacked out post-race!!!!!!!!

Anyways we spent rest of Sunday doing what has become a speciality of ours - "3 in a row movie marathon", albeit a strange combination of movies.
Started with ....
Lite-easy watching after the run.

Moved on to ....
Something that I have been meaning to watch forever! Intense and completely compelling to watch. Understandable why Forrest Whittaker won the Oscar for this !

And finally ......
Highlights the issues in a very sensitive way I think. No American soldier guts and glory here !

Monday morning post-script to the weekend : The Man's bib number was 1 digit off the weekend 4D draw! hmmmmmm - am wondering if there is a message in there for us ??!?!?!

Running in Cars and on Legs!

The last one week and this coming week and the next are crazy crazy crazy. Will be on the road for work - this time am going to rural to run workshops for the State Education Department. Had an interesting drive to Kuala Langat last week, preparing for Sabak Bernam this week and off to Myanmar next friday. In the midst of all this am still trying to keep up with the workouts, the challenge and train for upcoming race.

The Man and I have signed up for the New Balance 15K run on May 16th. Route below.
We tried out the route on Sunday morning! Our time just over 2 hours (courtesy of Endomondo). If we push my target is for us to try to get in under 2 hours. The 15K killed me though, knees hurt like mad. I am blaming it on the wedges that I used for the workshop on Saturday.

The Man post run - according to him " First time ever i am completely drenched!". Honey wait till we start training for the 20's and 40's.
Post race we chilled at home, or like crashed after an easy lunch.
Think May is going to be a real challenge - on the work-front, race-front, Challenge-front and personal-front. Lots to juggle ...

THE CHALLENGE

May 1st arrived and The Challenge is on ! Below is THE PLAN. We will update and modify as we get through the next 3 months.

3 Month Challenge  : 1 May 2010 – 1 August 2010
Aim : Lifestyle Makeover
o Loose Weight
o Healthy Eating
o Fit Racing
o Mind- Body Wellness

Anushia Goal : 54 kg (11kg), BMI 21.1
Bhaskaran Goal : 70kg (11kg), BMI 23.9

One thing I just realized - there has been no discussion about what the celebration will be once we get to the end line !!! Hmmmm .....

Learning ...

This something dropped into my Inbox this morning. Call it karmic destiny, the universe sending a message, very appropriate learning for me - given the weekend I had, and ensuing discussion with the man this morning.
Life Lesson 101 for Anushia !
Have I driven a wedge in the beautiful connection I was building with the man? Is this a lesson - for me to learn to behave with respect to the one that I love and have opened my heard to ? All I can say right now is that life is a journey and there is a lesson for you in every moment. The fundamental question - are you willing to learn from the lesson and accept the consequences or are you going to continue being a stubborn old mule ?

Lists, Plans and The Challenge !

It’s been a bit of a crazy week at work, and Ms. Control Freak in me has been trying to well gain control through her infamous TO DO Lists. In the process of trying to organize my Google Calendar and sync it with my phone, I had the funniest discussion with the man on Tuesday. Seems he is getting the hang of this PLANNING concept, and seems to be nudging me out of the control seat. Though he has a very interesting definition of planning – with something called a ‘PLAN’ and ‘REAL PLAN’.

Anyway, the zeal for running has morphed him into this unknown being – who is now planning our race calendar for 2011. YES – 2011, and we are only approaching the month of MAY 2010. His philosophy for 2011, long races outside Malaysia; short, short preparatory races close to home.
So RACE CALENDAR 2011 looks something like this :
o January 2011 – New Balance 30k
o February 2011 – Koh Samui Marathon
(This is where I got in the fray and took things one step further)
o July 2011 – Gold Coast Marathon
o December 2011 – Singapore Marathon
In between we may squeeze in KL Marathon, Penang Bridge Run and maybe the Angkor Run ! Haven’t decided the distances on these though.

Then came trying to get organize my work travel schedule and the numerous meetings with government agencies that miraculously get postponed 2 hours before we leave the office. We have figured best to try work out short breaks around my travel plans; so HOLIDAY PLANNER is now :
o Singapore May 29th – 31st : To coincide with the long Wesak weekend and a meeting I have in Singapore on the 31st.
o Ho Chi Minh City August 6th – 9th : We were planning to go away for my birthday, and looks like I have to conduct a workshop in Saigon on the 7th, so…..

And as we were doing our daily on messenger, the man threw open the gauntlet with THE CHALLENGE !
In the quest for that hot, hot body (which I think he already has) he suggested that starting May 1st, we go on a sugar-free, white-free, processed-food-free diet. His idea was to start shifting some of those pounds. I (as usual) took it one step further and suggested, why not look at it as a wholistic lifestyle plan – to get ourselves fit, healthy, hot, etc etc. To think of it as a lifestyle tune-up, wellness improvement programme.
Result : The man promptly took it up as a Challenge !
Goal 1 : To loose 10kg within the next 3 months. (The August deadline coinciding with my 35th – and the whole point of this blog!)
Goal 2 : To develop healthy eating habits for life.
Goal 3 : To maintain this weight and lifestyle for life.
Goal 4 : To get fit so we can race more effectively.

Given my issues with sugar – he had now been deputized as official Food Enforcer. I am in charge of designing this PLAN – given my love of lists and SOPS, as well as being the official Exercise Enforcer.

GAME ON !!!(Not to worry will do regular status updates on the Plan and Progress !)

Movie Marathon Weekend !

This weekend marked the 3rd Saturday in a row that I was running a workshop. Can’t wait till next weekend – when I get a full 2 days off before the crazy schedule starts again ! Whooppie!!!!!!!!
That said – I enjoyed the Saturday workshop, because I was demonstrating a product I really really like – Big Books, Picture Books and Literacy !!
And also got some information on a potential investment project. Am keeping my fingers crossed to see how things work out.
Anyway, after the workshop headed off to SA to chillax the remainder of the weekend with the man.
We set somewhat of a record this weekend! Firstly, we ran the 10k loop at the Lake Gardens on Sunday morning. First time for the man, a return for me after a 6 month hiatus.
The route details courtesy of Mr. Endomondo !

Post run – the man knocked out !!
Also – in keeping with the chillax theme – we watched 4 – YES 4 movies within the span of 24 hours at home.  According to the man 3 ½ cause we were continuing Up in the Air.
Anyway my humble review of the 4.
Movie No 1
Did not see the twist in the plot coming with Alex married. I thought it was quite realistic about life for once. None of that usual Hollywood fairy tale ending. Good acting.
Movie No 2
How can anyone go wrong with Morgan Freeman acting and Clint Eastwood directing!!! I liked the way it dealt with the politics and social challenges of South Africa in such a nuanced fashion. This could have gone all over-the-top feel good, but it wasn’t. Loved the realistic relationship between the body guards. Morgan Freeman’s accent and enunciation was spot on Mandela. This movie also started our ‘Sport Weekend’.
Movie No 3
Action Movie interlude. Fast and furious, it actually was a good easy watch for a girl who generally does not like bang-bang movies. John Travolta had excellent comic moments in this one. Quite worth a watch I would say.
Movie No 4
And to round it off, The Blind Side. This one was amazingly good and funny. Sandra Bullock did an excellent portrayal of that typical pushy, domineering southern white woman with a heart! She deserved the Oscar I think !
All in a great, relaxing and restful weekend with the man!

A Domestic, A Helper, A Maid.

Picked up our new Cambodian domestic helper / maid yesterday. A first for this family, who were brought up by my mother on a diet of “I-am-not-your-maid-we-all-live-here-can-wash-up-after-ourselves”. We have always have had part-time help who come in 2 – 3 times a week, but finally with grandma’s rapidly progressing Alziehmers and mom having to run the office full time after dad’s sudden passing ; here we are we our little domestic helper. From the get go, mom had been resistant to this entire idea, but I pushed and pushed- seeing it as the best solution in a bad situation, and secretly joyful at the idea of never having to wash another dish in this house ever again!!! The challenge – at so many levels; from intellectual, to everyday.

The newest addition to our house

Let’s start with the easy ones.

The Learning Curve @ Training the Maid
Our girl is very enthusiastic and sharp, however her English is patchy to say the least. Right now I am at the show and point stage, which we are doing at an ok level. Am attempting to teach basic words and using the Cambodian-English dictionary. Mom has just completely decamped from this. I think she feels like her role in the house is being usurped.

The Daily Grind
As silly crazy as this is, having a maid does make you stop and ask the questions you never would have though to ask. For example - What do we give her to eat? How does she wash her clothes ?
House- Assistant/ Domestic/ Maid
Just where do we draw the line ?? Do we justify that we are providing a dirt poor village girl from a 3rd world country a job or is this just the 21st century version of indentured labour??

A human being
For someone who so believes in emotional wellness, and being true to your spirit, I find it rather disconcerting to think that we have to treat this girl as an emotionless being. I think it makes it easier on the human psyche to disconnect from the fact that this young thing has most probably made the hardest journey of her life ever – from leaving her family, getting into an airplane, being shuttled off to new people into another house that she has to take care off. We can barely speak to her, let alone ask her if she is homesick or misses her family. Jeez I would want to curl up and cry, yet here we are asking her to do a whole bunch of domestic chores that I don’t want to dirty my hands with. I am not sure how to deal with this yet. I know of some people who insist that their maids wear a uniform. Doesn’t that fly gobsmack straight into the values that I preach about individuality and developing ones identity ?

Family Dynamics
We have brought a complete stranger into our home. I am wondering how this is going to affect the family dynamic. Will we find it intrusive ?? Or has this girl come for a purpose ???

For all the potential ease that a maid brings, I think we sometimes underestimate the impact it has on household.

Roadbump

Had a roadbump with the man last night ! (the 2nd serious one for the record)  Having just come out of a really rocky marriage, followed by a year of random flings with multiple men, the situation I find myself in with the man is something of a challenge. For a whole range of reasons –  (and here comes the infamous LIST)

1. My fear that the man is going to bail (given the experience with ex-husband) because I am – take your pick – not pretty enough, not think enough, not smart enough, not rich enough, too demanding, too whiny.
2. My needs, desires and dreams will be too overwhelming for him, thus requiring me to change.
3. That the overarching “values” will stand in the way of me pursuing what makes me happy.

Suffice to say – what started as a relaxed lets-work-out-together evening, quickly turned into an awkward “I am irritated with you” degenerating into an sms argument that continued online this morning. Granted to a significant degree, I had mouthed off and behaved in a way that prickled him up completely. To some extent – he is sensitive to certain things, and doesn’t yet quite get where I come from. But that’s what working and building a relationship is about isn’t it??!?

My take-away from this ….
o I must not judge
I can’t let my previous experiences cloud my thinking and opinions. I should look at each individual for who and what they are, appreciate and value for all that they are unique. Holding my tongue would also be a value-add in these situations
o I must think through what I do
Sometimes, I can get a little bit overbearing. More importantly, I don’t seem to realize how ridiculously inane and a waste of time some of the things I insist on doing are.
o The man is still here standing with me.
This is a BIG one for me. He has said it before, and I have only now come to internalize it. However pissed and irritated he is with me, he is still with me. Last night, he still sat with me for 45 mins, although he was in no mood to talk to me. He texted me through the night – and finally did engage with what was the matter. He is talking to me and has not bailed. That is what its’ all about – I may be the one who makes a bit boorahoo talky talky talk about everything – his actions speak volumes.

The Biggie that brought the argument full circle this morning (over msn)….

Anu : i still sayang you - u know .. and thats what drives me nuts...
Man : is worth to sayang me...im very sensitive...
wont blast everyday...once blast it will be long argument..
Anu : yes it is worth it !!!
because all of us have out trigger points .. and just this one thing does not mean you walk away from someone...because all of us have our downsides - but to me - the whole of you is so much more amazing
and besides - the way i see it - these arguments - its part of life - makes you learn and understand about the other person better...
the question you never answer - which i never ask ..
for all that anushia irritates you - is it worth being around her ??
Man: yup...
alot of same interest between u and me...more things to share talk..spend time compare to small2 irritates
even most of irritates i can just ignore if only involved both of us...anything involved other person...i wont just keep quite...

That said it all!!! It’s a journey isn’t it – trying to build a relationship with another person. The bottom line – are you willing to stand there and do what needs to be done to make it work !!??!?!

Sunday Run

The race calendar for the year looks something like this right now…

March 27th : Energizer Night Race – 10K √
May 16th : New Balance 15K
June 27th : KL Marathon 21K (1/2 Distance)
December 5th : Singapore Marathon 42K (Full Distance)

For the record, I did not even have such a think as a race calendar till last year, so this one is definitely a new one for me. To add to the focus and commitment, the man seems to have taken to this running thing with a bit of gusto as well. Nice to have someone special to share these things with !!!

Anyway to get moving again – finally pushed past the 10K mark on Sunday. Did 3 loops around Damansara Heights – 13.8K. I must say, I really started to feel it on that 3rd round, past the 1 hour mark. Everybody talks about muscle memory – nobody remembers to tell you that the muscles remember the pain first.

Surprise, surprise – I just only hit 1000 calories for that distance. I remember the days when I could easily scorch 1000 cals inside the gym. Trainer says it’s a good sign, am getting fitter; but I must confess I am addicted to the cheap thrill of the numbers. Akin to my addiction to the weighing scale. Other surprise – post run muscle soreness was minimal – by the night felt fine. Was tired – and knocked out for an hour during my weekly manicure-pedicure, but felt generally ok after.

Am now thinking that I need to push on for the 21K, that should be ok – and the greater goal the 42K full marathon in Singapore in December seems to be just within doable! (YES – I AM OFFICIALLY NUTS!)

Am also so proud of the man – he has not done anything beyond 10K recently , and he pushed to complete that 3rd loop. Can’t imagine what it must have taken him to do that. Am a bit worried though, his knee seems to be giving him some trouble. Had to ice it last night for him and its still sore today. We have to plan and strategise his workout.

Other exciting thing, being the tech geek that he is, the man keeps downloading and testing some new phone apps for running every week. Sometimes I think that’s the only thing that motivates him to get up at the crack of dawn on a Sunday morning…. I wish I could say it was chasing my butt, but I sincerely know it ain’t !!!
Anyway – from our very unscientific testing – best app out there for sports right now is Endomondo!
It keeps track of your distance, speed, is synced to GPS so you can view your route map after the run. Best of all it talks to you every km – to update you on your performance.

For the love of cupcakes!!!!

With my addiction to chocolates, cakes, desserts and generally anything of the sugar laden variety, cupcakes are my latest fave item! Apart from the girls in Sex and the City who made it so chic to eat cupcakes, they just somehow feel like such a wickedly girly treat !!!

Generally don’t have the patience or skill to make cupcakes on my own – so my go to place has always been Cupcake Chic.
The range and flavours are good. Solid and nothing OTT fancy. My all time fave - Fatal Attraction

Yesterday, colleague brought the prettiest little cupcakes into work! From a place called wondermilk café in Damansara Utama.
I am a convert !
The cupcakes are smaller then Cupcake Chic, but moist and tasty. The flavour range more extensive and the decorating is just so right. Had a chocolate chip – orange cupcake which had a chunk of orange fruit in the center. The plain vanilla one below was just right- not overly sugary !
